Design use

As a dark tone, it naturally lends itself to a background for light-coloured text, as a deep accent stripe, or as an anchoring tone in dark-mode interfaces. It pairs naturally with off-whites, warm creams, and metallic highlights.

Colour pairings

For palette building, grey works with almost everything — precisely because it does not compete. Pair it with a single strong accent colour to create clarity, or layer grey tones alone for studied minimalism.
